The next thing is to decide on the type of dogs you will like to breed; knowing that dogs serve different roles to man and you possibly cannot satisfy all the different niches that are available within the dog breeding business, for instance you may choose to either breed security dogs or pet dogs.

After you have made a decision on the breed you should now find out the requirements that govern the breeding business in your locality; are there laws, restrictions or rules that prevent you from starting a dog breeding business in your environment and if not, are you permitted to start in your neighborhood. This knowledge will protect you from being sued by your neighbors for breaching the peace.
